Is this the lady that like poisoned her husband or something? Or was that a different member of the faith office?

[–] chaosCruiser 9 points 16 hours ago (2 children)

You missed your stop. You were supposed to step off at 1930s Germany, right? Well, now we’re already headed towards medieval Spain. You might like the inquisition though.

"I'm up here working on the initiatives for President [Trump], who's been in ministry for 40 years and understands it," she insisted.

WTF? Show ANY evidence at all of 40 years of HitlerPig's "ministry," specifically anything BEFORE he decided to run for president.

[–] Ledericas@lemm.ee 17 points 19 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago)

why are you "womensplaining" a man and why are talking out of your place-,faith adivsor for trump.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 3 points 13 hours ago

"President Trump spoke to me in a dream. He looked exactly like God." /s

If being a sub is her kink, she can do that. If she likes being a sub, why is she so bossy?

[–] ajoebyanyothername@lemmy.world 3 points 17 hours ago

Now Dennis, I've heard that speed has something to do with it.

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 1 points 14 hours ago

If she likes being a sub, why is she so bossy?

In my experience, those are always the ones who get off on being subby.

How the everloving fuck does she know what God wants?

[–] tal@lemmy.today 13 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 20 hours ago) (7 children)

It's from a passage in the Bible.

Ephesians 5:22-24:

Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord.  For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior.  Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Where's my dinner, woman!

-- Jesus

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 21 points 20 hours ago (1 children)

That was written by a human, not God.

[–] tal@lemmy.today 5 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Ah, yes, but a divinely-inspired human, no doubt, acting on God's will to relay His message.

https://biblehub.com/topical/t/the_power_of_divine_inspiration.htm

Divine inspiration is a foundational concept in Christian theology, referring to the process by which God imparts His wisdom and guidance to humanity. This inspiration is most notably associated with the authorship of the Bible, where human writers were moved by the Holy Spirit to convey God's truth. The power of divine inspiration is evident in the transformative impact of Scripture, its enduring relevance, and its ability to guide believers in faith and practice.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 8 points 15 hours ago (1 children)

Like I said, written by a human. The rest, like the entire Bible, or even religion itself, is also a human construct.

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 3 points 12 hours ago (2 children)

Written by a schizophrenic human

My mom used to force us to go to church all the time, but she finally stopped when the pastor did a sermon on that one.

God has an order

1 Corinthians 11:6:

For if a woman does not cover her head, she might as well have her hair cut off; but if it is a disgrace for a woman to have her hair cut off or her head shaved, then she should cover her head.

Put your hat on, Paula. I'm definitely seeing uncovered hair there, and we know how God is about that.

Preaching to the innocent masses with that sinful outfit.

[–] MyOpinion@lemm.ee 232 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Excellent since you must submit to me. I command you to stop telling women to do this.

[–] My_IFAKs___gone@lemmy.world 71 points 1 day ago
[–] FenrirIII@lemmy.world 19 points 1 day ago (2 children)

She doesn't have to listen to you, you're not her first or second husband.

[–] Jax@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 day ago

Since we're going back to the caveman days all I need to do is kill her husbands and she becomes my wife.

That's what she wants, right? For women to become property again?

[–] tal@lemmy.today 10 points 23 hours ago* (last edited 23 hours ago) (1 children)

Apparently she's on her third, not second.

EDIT: Though apparently her first husband abused their son, so now I feel a little bad.

Ofc Trump has a fucking faith office. I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if he tried implementing biblical laws like some type of Christian version of Sharia law, or called for teaching creationism as fact in schools.

[–] Hyphlosion@lemm.ee 5 points 18 hours ago

Maybe he really is the antichrist.

[–] barneypiccolo@lemm.ee 7 points 20 hours ago

She needs to get back in the kitchen and make some sandwiches and be seen and not heard.

[–] olympicyes@lemmy.world 55 points 1 day ago (4 children)

FYI to Lemmy non-Christian’s: Paula White is an incredibly controversial figure in the evangelical community. Specifically, many believe her to be perpetuating fraud by demanding money from her followers in exchange for specific acts of prosperity provided by God (and even to ask God to smite your enemies). This differs from traditional tithing which typically is used for salaries, services (keeping the lights on), and community outreach.

Why evangelicals can’t point to her malfeasance as evidence of Trump’s corruption is a mystery to me. Additionally many conservative Christians don’t believe women should be in a position of authority, citing the same scripture she is here as evidence. If she were morally consistent she’d quit her “ministry” and go home.

[–] DicJacobus@lemmy.world 5 points 20 hours ago (1 children)
[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 2 points 14 hours ago

That implies that there are non-fraudulent evangelicals.

How could she accept the role of the head of an office if she thinks women should submit to men?

[–] dylanmorgan@slrpnk.net 36 points 1 day ago

Hypocrisy is the water conservative “Christians” swim in.

Hey if that’s her kink, good on her. But keep it to yourself lady

[–] LavaPlanet@lemm.ee 14 points 1 day ago

It's her kink for that to happen to other women, it doesn't apply to her. They're all like that.

[–] DeathsEmbrace@lemm.ee 115 points 1 day ago

If anybody wants a reason religion needs to die look no further than subjugation of half our population for religion to exist.

[–] Zombiepirate@lemmy.world 98 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Sounds like she shouldn't have gotten divorced three times if she gave a fuck what Jesus said.

But the prosperity gospel types know they're scammers, so she'll laugh all the way to the bank.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Problem_of_evil

The problem of evil is the philosophical question of how to reconcile the existence of evil and suffering with an omnipotent, omnibenevolent, and omniscient God.
