Proving once again that salt and vinegar is the best flavour

and watergun can be used far away from cameras saul-your-honor

We need to make an open source drone based water balloon delivery platform.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

yeah... "water balloon"

[–] Sulv@hexbear.net 32 points 1 week ago

They have cameras all over, wear a mask!

What is the optimal ratio?

Pour two cups of hydrogen peroxide, four tablespoons of white vinegar, and one-and-a-half teaspoons of table salt into a plastic spray bottle. Vigorously swirl the bottle to mix the contents. Once the salt has dissolved, spray the solution over the object to coat it partially or completely, depending on the desired effect. The peroxide should begin to bubble on contact with the metal, and rust will start forming immediately. Let the object air-dry in the sun for another five minutes or longer, depending on the size of the object.

Thanks, Bob Villa. If you have time to prepare the surface, a volatile degreaser like acetone will remove any oils that might protect the metal and evaporate pretty quickly.

HTH (pool chemical) is also a strong oxidizer. I’m not sure how to best use it, though

If you add plant food then you can get more colors in the patina

You could also have some fun with a stencil

Immediately? I dunno. I might want the process to be a little slower. I like to be able to wander off and do other things, and you know, come back to appreciate the results later.

Will that safely mix with a water balloon?

[–] sexywheat@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago

Only one way to find out!

[–] Sulv@hexbear.net 9 points 1 week ago

I wouldn't recommend breathing the fumes

just some diluted bleach, even chlorine free is fine (with acid added only chlorine free is fine), the smell will go away in like an hour (well 10 minutes really) in the sun. All handimade solutions are doing is inducing small pits to form in the steel, and then nature take its course over months

[–] Sulv@hexbear.net 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The chlorine free part is important cause I think bleach + vinegar = chlorine gas which was used in WW1

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 5 points 1 week ago

I knew about bleach+ammonia but not bleach+vinegar, good to know

merely placing a magnet on a cyber truck can cause corrosion. magnetic field accelerates galvanic corrosion so the mere presence of water around a magnet will lead to rust relatively quickly. thus many cyber truck owners have reported that magnets on their shitheaps have resulted in rust and corrosion, which becomes even worse if the magnet is of a decent size to trap water and other nonsense behind it

[–] CliffordBigRedDog@hexbear.net 16 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oi moite they have salt and vinegar down in the chippy

[–] Flyberius@hexbear.net 11 points 1 week ago

Sadly we don't have cybertrucks in blighty

[–] take_five_moments@hexbear.net 14 points 1 week ago

yum salt and vinegar chips

[–] ShimmeringKoi@hexbear.net 8 points 1 week ago

You really don't need as much salt as you think, either

So maybe use stickers that press the solution against the car panels (during a hot day) in particular patterns to give the car a nice tattoo?

They mostly like Germanic of phallic (or both) symbolism so choose accordingly.
