"oh but why won't people vote for the democrats?!?!"

Because they're fucking pussies. Time to vote for the Black Panther Party. I don't care if you're white. I am too.

Now dawn that black beret and start marching with rifle in hand. We're going to go form some fucking cooperatives!

And those same people won't vote for an AOC or Sanders in their district because... Reasons?

[–] taanegl@lemmy.world 1 points 2 days ago

Because McCarthyism is well and alive.

After 7 decades of fear mongering which has trained the US constituency to not up go left of neo liberal, which - incidentally - is slightly right from center, we see that the only path is further right... into Naziism.

The neo liberals don't know what to do, because they too wanna go further right, because they're fucking neo-liberals.

Right seriously

"Erm Bernie isn't viable because he's too radical"

As if Biden or Harris had any appeal aside from not being Trump????

I'm still mad people didn't care that the dems essentially skipped their primary as a way to cheese their candidate selection and not because they actually didn't have the time to complete a primary.

C’mon, they waved those little signs and all that.

Democratic party is the party of status quo.

Conservative party is the party of destruction/cancer.

The people want a party of progress.

The people will never get what they want with these two parties in charge of everything.

Just a sad fact. Things will get worse before they get better.

I dream of a day we get to hunt the dixiecrats down in a version of the hunger games

We need a new party. Or burn it all to the ground.

[–] RozZakton@midwest.social 3 points 6 days ago

Electoral politics are clearly a fools errand at this point anyway

[–] mrodri89@lemmy.zip 7 points 6 days ago

Fuck Americans. And I say that as an American.

A good chunk of you dont give a fuck about voting and that's why were here.

And they probably aren't smart enough to sign up to Lemmy.

So eat it up. Everyday. Wake up and smell it. All the shit.

Voters: Free Luigi, eat the rich

Elected officials: 💁‍♂️

[–] Wilco@lemm.ee 13 points 6 days ago

Exactly.

Eventually something minor cannot be done, we want democrat politicians to stop cooperating with Republicans... but no, they just roll to expose their belly and vote in the budget bill.

Democratic leaders blearily looked up from their mid-afternoon cocktails on the decks of billionaire's yachts and said, "They want us to what?"

[–] SlopppyEngineer@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago

Indeed, they're just too status quo.

[–] magnetosphere@fedia.io 56 points 1 week ago

Trump is actively killing democracy. Some Democratic politicians have chosen the most pathetic, inexcusable response possible: bland indifference.

I’m torn between fear that our government will collapse, and the cynical realization that maybe it deserves to.

So, trumps polling all time low numbers, democrats are polling low numbers.

I feel like if I release T-Shirts that just say "Everything sucks", they would be universally popular.

[–] PunnyName@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

*gestures broadly* T-shirts

[–] SnotFlickerman@lemmy.blahaj.zone 15 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Person wearing "gestures broadly" t-shirt standing next to someone wearing a "Thanks, I hate it" t-shirt.

Unfortunately I think the people need to start fighting first. Neither side can count on their elected officials anymore. One side is just too stupid to realize it yet...

[–] interested_party@lemmy.org 4 points 6 days ago

Need some serious, if not injurious protests. Time to fight and make some noise.
