I think I've teleportation ever happened, It was fundamentally change everything about how we do everything.
The only two jobs available would probably be product/content production and maintenance of the teleportation system.
I don't think immigration borders would be the main issue. It's pretty easy to get into most countries for the price of a return plane ticket, and then you just don't leave. Unless teleportation was much cheaper and more convenient it wouldn't change much. I think it would have an impact on customs and smuggling. Pretty easy to bring anything to anywhere without ant chance of interception.
But the biggest shift would be security. Presuming anyone could just make anything appear anywhere, I think the rich and powerful would be very afraid. If teleporting a homemade bomb into someone's palatial mcmansion was as easy as 3d printing a gun then people wouldn't have to even go full Luigi to terrorise those people. Remember the anthrax scare? Posting poison is one thing, but just making clouds of it appear in bedrooms or offices with destinctive oval-shapes, would be quite a different level.
This is exactly what I was thinking. Immigration? Hah! Murder! Theft. But mostly murder. Musk would already be gone, Trump too. Putin. It would practically be a death sentance to be a world leader.
You don't need a teleporter. You just need a plane ticket. Living in many countries (illegally) is as easy as flying in and not flying back. For many, you don't even need a visa if you pretend you're only there for a short stay.

Only if it's freeform teleportation that is man portable.
If you can't carry it with you, you only get one trip, so that limits how many crossings are possible by a single person, and they could choose to imprison rather than deport.
If it isn't freeform, you'd have to have a destination receiver of some kind, which would make it fairly easy to control in the same way as airplanes are.
Hell, depending on how it worked, there might be range limits. Even Star Trek transporters have range limits, despite them being huge. Other versions in fiction have required steps to get anywhere distant, and the harder the sci-fi, the more limited the range is because there's a ton of obstacles to any theoretical basis for teleportation.
The most realistic ones, you'd be sending a signal, and signals all have the possibility of degradation or interference, and that increases over distance. So you'd likely be looking at in city or city to city ranges if it was a possibility (and afaik, it isn't anything that can be achieved)
I mean huge swaths of basically all security in the world would have to be redone depending on how teleportation works. Admitted depending on if we are talking general beaming, pads/portals etc... I mean inherantly security itself is a factor when it comes to just what to do if someone pops into your house when you leave.
If teleportation gets invented, countries will cease to exist. Instead you will have Polities (polity). Boarders and location would have nothing to do with what polity you lived in.
