"Canadians must surrender or die" - Future news from 2027

[–] ImmersiveMatthew@sh.itjust.works 6 points 1 hour ago (1 children)

So Trump is cool with Canadians moving to the USA and getting a job?

[–] werefreeatlast@lemmy.world 2 points 27 minutes ago

They don't have to! We just want the dirt part of Canada.

Just like he wants the dirt part of Gaza. The people should move on to magical lands such as Greenland, Blue land, but most preferably brown land south.

[–] Corno@lemm.ee 23 points 2 hours ago (2 children)

He needs to find a more productive obsession that's much less likely to lead to a war, like building model boats.

[–] ragepaw@lemmy.ca 21 points 2 hours ago

I miss the good old days when he just obsessed about fucking his daughter instead of my country.

[–] sik0fewl@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 hour ago

Or take up painting.

[–] M0oP0o@mander.xyz 3 points 55 minutes ago

Well this shit is likely not helping american military moral, which is good since this war will be rough and Canada needs every advantage/deserter available.

[–] missandry351@lemmings.world 8 points 2 hours ago

Imagine the whole world boycott United States of Gilead

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 5 points 2 hours ago

Imagine being so stupid as to vote for little d over the price of eggs and getting a war with Canada.

[–] Furbag@lemmy.world 19 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

Canada, this guy ain't gonna learn until you burn it down a second time.

[–] Devanismyname@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 hour ago

Hopefully carney is up to the task of getting us new trade relations soon.

[–] wanderwisley@lemm.ee 20 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

We won’t stop fighting against Trump until he is absorbed into the ground.

[–] ksigley@lemm.ee 4 points 2 hours ago

He'd better not come in my yard or I'll put him there.

[–] RizzRustbolt@lemmy.world 4 points 5 hours ago

Next thing you know, we'll start intercepting their maritime vessels and press-gang their sailors.

In case people don’t realize. Canada shares an Arctic border with Russia and Russia is trying to take Canadian land and regularly crosses into our waters to steal resources. It is of benefit to Putin for Canada to be weak and distracted by Trump, since Trump works for Putin, it’s very clear why he’s doing this

[–] KulunkelBoom@lemm.ee 33 points 13 hours ago

He bends over for putin all the time. Strange...

Please remember that all this is noise to hide the great billionaire sacking of america. Smoke screen.

[–] turnip@sh.itjust.works 2 points 2 hours ago* (last edited 2 hours ago)

Have these random programs actually helped Americans?

To my naive view, would America not he better served with a far more progressive tax system, in lieu of spending these large sums to foreign countries and various agencies that squander what could be given to the poor?

In what world is giving the poor more money directly not he an effective means of raising their standard of living, which should be the main point of a progressive government?

[–] T00l_shed@lemmy.world 37 points 14 hours ago (3 children)

I genuinely thinks he also wants to annex canada though

[–] TokenBoomer@lemmy.world 15 points 13 hours ago

It’s very interesting that he is criminalizing climate change, while seeking to take over the lands that would benefit from climate change.

There’s another fella across the ocean that is accelerating climate change because it will benefit his country.

Great take. I agree. We know this from Project 2025. Keep an eye on it but don't let it distract. Trump and cronies are using a strategy coined flood the zone to prevent coordinated opposition against them in politics and media.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 111 points 21 hours ago (6 children)

I hope that people in the Pentagon remember that following illegal orders is a crime, too, and you cannot be forced to do so. Something established in Nürnberg when they took care of the Nazis.

An order to attack Canada, Mexico, Greenland, or Panama would basically be such an illegal order.

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 29 points 16 hours ago

This is not the first time the US has made up bullshit in order to attack a country: WMDs in Iraq, communism in Vietnam, Russia said there were nazis in Ukraine to justify that war. The military only needs a lie and then it’s not illegal anymore. The lies are already circulating. “canada is communist” “canada hurts the US”

[–] PraxicalExperience@lemmy.world 10 points 14 hours ago (2 children)

I'm not sure it's technically illegal, and I'm very doubtful that the current judiciary would find it so. But it is unconscionable. And insane.

[–] orcrist@lemm.ee 1 points 1 hour ago

If troops do illegal shit, the U.S. judicial system is one of several places they could possibly be held accountable.

[–] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 8 points 13 hours ago

It's not technical illegal at all. Nothing he does is. The Supreme Court made him king.

[–] CurlyWurlies4All@slrpnk.net 30 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

Lol the Pentagon isn't afraid to fake evidence to support an invasion. Remember the aluminium tubes? Remember yellow cake uranium? I remember.

[–] AtariDump@lemmy.world 1 points 51 minutes ago
