News and Discussions about Reddit

Welcome to !reddit. This is a community for all news and discussions about Reddit.

The rules for posting and commenting, besides the rules defined here for lemmy.world, are as follows:

Rules

Rule 1- No brigading.

**You may not encourage brigading any communities or subreddits in any way. **

YSKs are about self-improvement on how to do things.

Rule 2- No illegal or NSFW or gore content.

**No illegal or NSFW or gore content. **

Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here. Breaking this rule will not get you or your post removed, but it will put you at risk, and possibly in danger.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

Fucking cowards sending out the messages from an account that you can't even reply to? Are they also sending out these messages to people upvoting /r/Conservative content? What about/r/Conspiracy?

I overwrote all my comments with the following today :

Leopard Urinating In Geocached Inventory

I'm not petty at all πŸ˜…

Keep on the good job

[–] HalfSalesman@lemm.ee 20 points 9 hours ago

Please let them implode.

I want Lemmy to have niche content. I'm tired of being a bitter asshole about politics and news on here. I want to gleefully distract myself while my country burns, not be ultra depressed about it because its constantly in my face.

If you wanna do it fast, just speak ill of fascists. Worked for me.

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 2 points 4 hours ago

Nazi website

[–] Hellcyon@lemm.ee 4 points 10 hours ago

I said 53 days closer to his obituary. I'm not sure how that's anything but an actual truth? But whatever. Fuck those knee benders.

[–] Schmuppes@lemmy.today 9 points 12 hours ago

Now I feel challenged to do the same and have my inactive account banned.

Whatever their goal is, one result is apparent: less voicing of opposite views to the status quo on their website.

[–] Pilferjinx@lemmy.world 2 points 1 hour ago

It's literally Orwell's "wrongthink" - which is a thoughtcrime on Reddit.

[–] samus12345@lemm.ee 7 points 10 hours ago

You will lick boot and you will like it!

[–] Yokozuna@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Yooooo I scrubbed my profile when I left but this would be a great way to finally get it dealt with for good.

[–] bitjunkie@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Oh they're definitely still keeping your data either way

[–] Yokozuna@lemmy.world 1 points 1 hour ago

I know that. I used the platform for free, of course they're going to keep the information. What I'm trying to do is make any thread I ever posted on or posted a little more unusable and littered with remnants of some info that was there but now isn't. I know there have been instances in the past where they resurrect a deleted post or comment because it was relevant, but I don't think anything I ever did got nearly enough traction to warrant that. So I'll do whatever I can, it's better than not doing anything.

Don't get permabanned! Sell your precious account first ;) it will be used to spam on Reddit and you'll get some money, it's a win-win situation!

[–] ericatty@infosec.pub 10 points 11 hours ago

Yes, please tell us where we need to not go to avoid accidentally selling our reddit accounts

[–] DoubleSpace@lemm.ee 15 points 16 hours ago (1 children)
[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 6 points 15 hours ago

The real questions here!

[–] SwordOfOtto@lemmy.world 14 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Who that fuck buys reddit accounts? And where to sell them? ( I certainly would not do that ...)

[–] kaidezee@lemmy.ml 2 points 8 hours ago

I certainly would not do that either...

Hahahahahahahhahahaha this is wild. It’s so blatant. It’s just so unrepentantly, obviously, nakedly blatant. Jesus fuck.

Like im glad you guys are all getting out and finding us and other similar communities, but like… the societal and systemic implications of them going so hard on this on reddit makes me shudder to consider how insane moderation must be getting on normie social networks, which have been traditionally WILDLY awful on that point even before we decided to break fascist. This is them actively and aggressively suppressing free speech. Mahmoud Khalil was/is another instance of that. This is us not keeping the republic.

[–] RizzoTheSmall@lemm.ee 12 points 16 hours ago

Man am I glad i left that honey-boo-boo-moderated shit show

[–] pineapplelover@lemm.ee 9 points 17 hours ago

[–] dzso@lemmy.world 25 points 22 hours ago

Talk about the thought police! I saw it coming for awhile, but past me from a decade ago is shocked that Reddit has come to this.

[–] KnowledgeableNip@sh.itjust.works 201 points 1 day ago (4 children)

Man isn't even convicted yet and his name is taboo.

The rich are scared. Good. They should be.

[–] M137@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

His name isn't taboo, it's just the asslicker self-chosen slaves of the rich that want to silence it.

[–] Scrollone@feddit.it 7 points 16 hours ago* (last edited 16 hours ago)

They can be scared, but unless ten, fifty, or one hundred green Mario brothers appear nothing will change.
