He probably turned off the working servers, stupid apartheid loving fuckwit

[–] painfulasterisk1@lemmy.ml 15 points 14 hours ago

Good. That's called a free market. If people don't like a service, they'll protest against it.

If you noticed this outage, it’s because you’re on Xitter and part of the problem.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 2 points 10 hours ago

I just noticed it because of all the complaints of Xitter users. I don't think that counts as being part of the problem.

[–] Albbi@lemmy.ca 8 points 16 hours ago

Technically if you noticed the problem, you were part of the DDOS and were part of the attack.

But seriously, get of of X if you're on it.

[–] eagleeyedtiger@lemmy.nz 27 points 18 hours ago (1 children)

He's trying to blame Ukraine for the attack now. Not like they have anything else to focus on right now, right?

[–] proper@lemmy.world 18 points 17 hours ago (2 children)

I don’t believe anything that comes out of his mouth. but if they were ukrainian ips that would be an amazing troll, assuming they’d be using vpns of course.

[–] eagleeyedtiger@lemmy.nz 11 points 17 hours ago

He's been lying for years and still so many believe what he says. In any case, any group doing this would be at the very least spoofing their IP's anyway wouldn't they?

[–] whaleiam@lemm.ee 3 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

I’m sure one hit of the vpn was in Ukraine and they were like that’s it! Even though anon took credit for it.

[–] wwb4itcgas@lemm.ee 2 points 14 hours ago (1 children)

Even though anon took credit for it.

Not that I'm doubting you, but do you have a source for that? It'd be a pretty valuable addition of the thread.

[–] whaleiam@lemm.ee 4 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

I saw it all over earlier there are quite a few stories. But this was posted today on their channel https://opdreadnought.com/ I take everything with a grain these days, another group also took credit for the hack as well called dark storm.

[–] wwb4itcgas@lemm.ee 2 points 12 hours ago

Thanks, buddy. I appreciate it.

Incompetence does not equal malfeasance.

[–] lupusblackfur@lemmy.world 14 points 18 hours ago (2 children)

Generator ran out of fuel but Elonazi fired the guy(s) that knew how to refuel the thing...

😂 🤣

[–] futatorius@lemm.ee 1 points 8 hours ago

Maybe they could burn some SwastiKars to generate power?

[–] Enkers@sh.itjust.works 3 points 18 hours ago

EfFicieNcy!

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 33 points 19 hours ago

Couldn't happen to a nicer business.

[–] gedaliyah@lemmy.world 7 points 14 hours ago

Too bad that all of his most brilliant engineers are busy volunteering for DOGE, otherwise they surely would have prevented this.

[–] Hayduke@lemmy.world 14 points 18 hours ago

Xitter was full!

[–] Bellingdog@lemmy.world 15 points 19 hours ago

When you're hated and incompetent, blaming the people you hate for your incompetence is a convenient scapegoat.

I suspect X was down because they screwed something up internally. When you'll never be required to prove anything, you can scream you're being hacked / ddos'd til the cows come home and rubes will believe you.

[–] tiefling@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 17 hours ago

I'm sure his very stable highschool geniuses are well equipped to handle a multi pronged DDOS

I'm sure Grok will have the issue sorted shortly.

[–] JakenVeina@lemm.ee 12 points 19 hours ago

And how many of your network infrastructure experts, whose job it is to prevent this kinda thing, did you fire, Elon?

[–] randomcruft@lemmy.sdf.org 4 points 15 hours ago

Someone just found LOIC on Sourceforge https://sourceforge.net/projects/loic/

[–] Dave@lemmy.nz 5 points 19 hours ago

We never have any issues, why do we keep all these IT people around? Let's get rid of them.

[–] romp_2_door@lemmy.world 3 points 19 hours ago

Wish they kept up with the operation for several days so twitter stops being used

[–] Embargo@lemm.ee 2 points 18 hours ago

Ohhh... poor baby.
