EU membership includes a defense alliance. UA "just" has to join the EU. Unfortunately the country (economy and social systems) is not yet ready for that.
The absolute funniest outcome would be Ukraine offering the same deal to the EU and the EU counteroffering with "how about you offer us half that because supporting you benefits us all"

Even taking Russia out of the equation, Europe would greatly benefit from Ukraine producing minerals and selling them to their allies at a fair rate.

Sorry about that but we will have to fix this and until we prove ourselve for a few decades all reall first world democracies will need to be careful. japan, south korea, and taiwan need to make a formal org along with some other east asian countries and then likely have that pact have something with australia and canada. Man I wish india were in a better place to as we need more sanity worldwide stat.
