I like my steak like I like my solar systems: predictable, stable, evenly distributed

[–] ininewcrow@lemmy.ca 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

As your steak, your table and you slowly drift towards my table where I ordered mine 'Extra Divine'

[–] casmael@lemm.ee 4 points 1 year ago

All with an excellent view, because we’re seated at a window in The Restaurant At The End Of The Universe™️

[–] ikidd@lemmy.world 22 points 1 year ago

I like mine so rare that a good vet could bring it back to life.

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 22 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Doctor told me after the transplant that I should only eat steak well done. I just won't eat steak rather than ruin the meat.

[–] Seventhlevin@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I would get a second opinion!

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 8 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeah, I know its not a completely necessary precaution from a bit of internet searching, but honestly? After all I went through leading up to the transplant. I'm okay with making a minor sacrifice to be overly cautious.

[–] antinjection@feddit.de 1 points 1 year ago

you may be safe by using sous vide/pasteurising the steak. same texture and safer to consume. maybe look into it if you really craving steak (which i assume you're not right now). same goes for things like cured meats

"Blue" goes between Rare and Epic. It's basically the legal minimum you can cook a steak in a restaurant.

[–] discodoubloon@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Elongating this meme with a “Red” on the other side with a burning hot coal ember haha…

[–] Dettweiler42@lemmyonline.com 3 points 1 year ago

That would fit well between "Astounding" and "Congratulations"

[–] beteljuice@lemmy.ml 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Legendary is the only option

[–] EliteCaster@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

No there were 12 other options actually

[–] Tigbitties@kbin.social 8 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

De-horn it and slap it with a hot frying pan.

[–] FFbob@lemmy.world 3 points 1 year ago

Show the cow a fire and bring it to the table.

[–] Pantsofmagic@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

This guy steaks.

[–] GreenMario@lemm.ee 7 points 1 year ago

Unreal. My hope is if I eat that steak we all disappear.

[–] guyrocket@kbin.social 6 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Good lord, "Congratulations"!?!?

Congratulations on ruining that poor steak. Apologize to that cow for giving its life in vain!

Medium rare for me.

Baked ribeye = awesome.

[–] catsup@lemmy.one 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Its a meme bruv, obviously no one eats meat like that

[–] guyrocket@kbin.social 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

You haven't met my sister!

To shreds, you say?

[–] Globulart@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

If "well done" is overcooking thoroughly it makes sense that charring to an inedible mess is a stronger form of praise.

[–] Foggyfroggy@lemmy.world 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

From big bang, to medium rare, to heat death of the universe, how do you take your steak, sir?

[–] UnfortunateShort@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago (1 children)

kurzgesagt, I want it to make me feel tiny and insignificant.

[–] discodoubloon@kbin.social 1 points 1 year ago

Oh, now that’s a great steak!

[–] GrammatonCleric@lemmy.world 5 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I like mine cooked until I see dark matter.

[–] DarkenLM@artemis.camp 5 points 1 year ago

What are you cooking your steak with? A singularity?

[–] ivanafterall@kbin.social 5 points 1 year ago

Divine. You feel like you become the steak.

[–] peopleproblems@lemmy.world 4 points 1 year ago

ah, yes my ex wife proffered hers like a quasar too, with keychup

[–] downpunxx@kbin.social 4 points 1 year ago

rare/medium rare, i'm not fancy, i just want lightly irony salty meat with some scortch fat marks, as god intended. you can keep your kobe/waygu fat crap to yourselves.

[–] ultra@feddit.ro 2 points 1 year ago (1 children)
[–] match@pawb.social 2 points 1 year ago

Congratulations

[–] Rolder@reddthat.com 2 points 1 year ago

Rare for me. As rare as possible before I’m risking food poisoning.

[–] nal@lib.lgbt 2 points 1 year ago

medium rare

[–] _haha_oh_wow_@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago)

Fuck your steak: How do you take your chicken?

"I'll have the chicken, medium-rare."

[–] leggettc18@programming.dev 2 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (2 children)

Are the first three a terraria reference?

[–] ProstheticBrain@sh.itjust.works 5 points 1 year ago* (last edited 1 year ago) (1 children)

Don't know about terraria specifically, but it's a sliding scale of how you like beef cooked right?

The mid section is the usual meat doneness from Well done to Rare

Going up it parodies loot rarity types from Rare to Mythic (maybe Unreal is one too?). The idea is that, going "more rare" than rare beef is

  • Rare - Rare beef
  • Epic - raw beef
  • Legendary - Live cow
  • Mythic - All the ancestral cow-like creatures that evolved into cow
  • Unreal - The primordial ancestor of all life on land
[–] leggettc18@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

No I get that, I just mean specifically did they get the idea for the exact text to use from terraria. Those are prefixes you can get on weapons, and I think they are in order of how good they are as well.

[–] Zeshade@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I didn't get the first two pictures so yeah I would be interested to know

[–] leggettc18@programming.dev 1 points 1 year ago

The pictures definitely aren’t from Terraria, but the text matches some of the weapon prefixes.

[–] Uniquitous@lemmy.one 1 points 1 year ago

I prefer my steak oiled, seasoned, and then seared in the heart of a supernova

[–] UntouchedWagons@lemmy.ca 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Seriously though, what would I expect if I ordered a medium well or medium done steak?

[–] SpaceNoodle@lemmy.world 12 points 1 year ago

To be asked politely, but firmly, to leave.

[–] son_named_bort@lemmy.world 1 points 1 year ago

Give me unreal or give me death!
