The fact that this is a real image is infuriating

They're forming a new axis, trying to get AfD in power in Germany too.

They're you go: Pierre Poilievre, proudly supported by Nazis the world over. FFS Canada, how can you endorse this guy?

[–] deege@lemmy.ca 21 points 18 hours ago

A lot of us don’t. For those that do - same misguided reasons they support President Elon and his sidekick Trump down south.

I'm not one to defend Pollievre, I think he is Canada's worst leadership option, but the fact that Musk who wants to weaken is supports him is not a sign to me that Pollievre supports those ideas.

Pollievre has called out Musk recently too.

Now, Pollivres actions supporting the convoy, meeting with their organizers, egging them on while they called to usurp our government and harassed citizens and stole from the soup kitchen, refusing to comment on whether he would put everything in the table against Trump, the shady dealings during the Conservative leadership race, and his actions under Harper and as finance critic lead me to believe he's just a power hungry slime ball who will do whatever helps him over Canadians, without any semblance of ethics.

This is a "Not all conservatives are Nazis, but all Nazis are conservative" distinction.

Poillevre might not actually goosestep and wear a snappy-looking black Hugo Boss uniform and make undesirable people into soap while stealing their gold teeth, but people who do those things vote for Poillevre and give him money.

Conversely, people who vote for Singh...don't.

I'm not voting for the conservatives until I hear full-throated rejection of bigoted policies, and right now, all I hear is bitching about "woke this" and "DEI that".

I'm not voting for the Tories until their platform fits my beliefs, and until I'm a <0.05%er that's not fucking happening...... actually? Scratch that, I'd never end up being that rich because that doesn't fit my beliefs....and also I wasn't born into money, have no "luck" with the lottery and didn't marry into money or monarchy.

[–] psvrh@lemmy.ca 2 points 7 hours ago (1 children)

I'd vote for, eg, John Robarts. Maybe Bill Davis.

[–] Sturgist@lemmy.ca 1 points 18 minutes ago

Fair enough. The Tories do not, have not, and I very much doubt ever will champion nearly anything I would be willing to see in my homeland...but that's me. Different strokes and all that.

The fuck outta here you apartheid profiteering nazi fuck

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 59 points 1 day ago

Fuck that Nazi cunt and the goose stepping wannabe.

Who's going to volunteer to post this picture again, the minute Musk dares to say another word about Canada?

[–] Croquette@sh.itjust.works 11 points 16 hours ago

It won't do shit. He doesn't care, people that support him don't care as well.

It's gonna come down to fisticuffs and I hope there are less Nazis than there seems to be.

[–] floofloof@lemmy.ca 9 points 21 hours ago

I fear that for many of Poilievre's supporters it's a plus.

[–] pivot_root@lemmy.world 31 points 1 day ago

Somehow, I don't think he will be happy until he's the shadow president of the entire planet. Interfering with politics in America, Germany, the UK, and now you all...

[–] BedSharkPal@lemmy.ca 40 points 1 day ago (2 children)

I wonder if this hurts or helps PP? Could go either way.

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 23 points 1 day ago (2 children)

From halfway across the world, I think you guys are going to do same thing as Americans. Unhappy with not as good party so replace them with regressive dicks.

[–] Croquette@sh.itjust.works 6 points 16 hours ago

I mean, this is the same thing happening every 10 years or so.

Unfortunately, the state of the world today makes it much more damageable this time around.

[–] Kaput@lemmy.world 9 points 19 hours ago

We have more than two parties. A minority government is quite possible. But yeah, Poilievre could be in power.

[–] ahal@lemmy.ca 25 points 1 day ago

In Canada, after that image is plastered everywhere? I sure as hell hope it hurts him.

[–] fourish@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

At some point their relationship is going to sour and then things will get very interesting.

It soured very quickly last time when Trump said he was going to pull out of the Paris agreement.

Clearly he doesn't care about that now, but I think you're right, and I think it's going to be pretty quick.

[–] yarn@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Elon is an absolute weenie who hasn't progressed as a person since he was 12. I hope PP is smart enough to recognize the love bombing and leave the trash south of the border.

[–] Sturgist@lemmy.ca 9 points 19 hours ago

I'll take that action. A fiver says he isn't.....

[–] xmunk@sh.itjust.works 22 points 1 day ago

Come up here and say it to our face, asshat.

In the past week alone, Musk has dipped into Canadian politics on his social media platform several times; endorsing Conservative Leader Pierre Poilievre, showering him with praise, reposting his tweets and applauding his speeches and media interactions.

Looks like there was a space added to your link, so it's broken.
