Not using food delivery at all

[–] MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Imagine cooking your own food, the shame. The shame!

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world 3 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Hey man, I cook all my family's meals 7 days a week. I splurged, sue me

[–] MrScottyTay@sh.itjust.works 7 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Chill dude, I'm not attacking you

[–] cm0002@lemmy.world -2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Maybe not me personally, but it comes across as spiteful of the very idea of ordering delivery "No excuse to order delivery when you can just cook"

Back in the day the local Chinese food and Pizzerias would send a dude for free if you ordered enough and you just tipped them.

It’s not really a new thing and definitely a necessity on occasion.

These new gig models are becoming parasites and using them is painful to some.

Even with the free delivery, you're paying more. The price per item is higher through them than going in-store or using in-house delivery (if available).

Nah, the new user coupons vary, but rn they're free delivery + 20$ off for UberEats

Sometimes it's free delivery+ 50% off, last month UE was doing free delivery+ 60% off

With these numbers I'm usually spending less than if I had gone to the restaurant lol

It’s easier to just create an alias. If you have a Gmail account you can just add a + to the address to create an alias that forwards to your inbox. This way you’ll have a running list of addresses you’ve already created, as well as making it easier to receive the confirmation email.

Example: address@gmail.com -> address+ubereats1@gmail.com

Apple software will create a new alias for you if you select Hide My Email during signup as well.

My setup is even easier and more stealthy, I have Google workspace attached to one of my domains and have Gmail configured to deliver any email sent to the domain to my main inbox regardless of what's before the @

So I can make up any email I need, on the spot, without exposing any part of my actual email AND circumvents detection (I have encountered online services that detect and rejects the "+")

A lot of services have got wise to that block +alias addresses, or at least treat them all as a single address. its_me+ubereats45@gmail.eggs is obviously an alias, but ubereats45@its_me.eggs is harder to detect.
