The weird thing is like, this whole situation could have been avoided if he just played the game normally rather than pretending to be some god gamer at it.

Who the fuck cares. Elon, is average moron playing average game. If this was something important, I could understand, but this is nothing more than attention whoring.

The Worst Person You Know

Asmon isn't even close to to the top of the worst people I know. What even is that title?

[–] Cocodapuf@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

The funniest part to me is that the wealthiest person in the world is playing a f2p game.

[–] agnomeunknown@lemmy.world 4 points 10 hours ago

It's a reference to an Onion headline

[–] finitebanjo@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

I guess because VICE is hard right now they view Asmongold as somebody really bad?

[–] viking@infosec.pub 14 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

Who the hell is Asmon? I thought the headline was referencing Elon.

[–] Lemminary@lemmy.world 8 points 14 hours ago* (last edited 13 hours ago) (1 children)

It's Asmongold. He's a relatively popular gaming streamer who also does commentary but some of his political opinions have been a bit questionable.

[–] viking@infosec.pub 3 points 13 hours ago (2 children)

Ah alright, I've yet to watch a single streamer.

He’s already demonstrated first hand he doesn’t know how to navigate the UI for someone who has invested time to be a top player. It’s obvious to anyone that’s spent more than a couple days in any game.

[–] Valmond@lemmy.world 65 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Such a /technology/ post.

There is technology in it, like a computer game.

If Musk is ready to lie about his gaming achievements then can we really trust anything that comes out from his mouth.

I mean who cares if Musk is bad at POE2 but the fact that he goes to such lengths to lie about how good he is in a videogame tells a lot about his character and personality.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 1 points 9 hours ago

I bet if Musk played DBD he'd be the first one on the damn hook, every, fucking, time.

[–] ifItWasUpToMe@lemmy.ca 57 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Have you heard his opinions on chess? He doesn’t play because it’s too easy.

[–] thejml@lemm.ee 61 points 1 day ago

That’s exactly what someone who sucks at it would say.

[–] TheFogan@programming.dev 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Wonder how he'd fare against trump at golf.

[–] HawlSera@lemm.ee 4 points 9 hours ago* (last edited 9 hours ago)

They'd tie with a perfect score of -18, having somehow gotten a hole in one each course without even touching a club!

[–] ifItWasUpToMe@lemmy.ca 12 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

They would tie. Would take them each 18 strokes for 18 holes I’m sure.

[–] FeloniousPunk@lemmy.today 7 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Oh there would be plenty of strokes, I’ll grant you that.

[–] ifItWasUpToMe@lemmy.ca 2 points 13 hours ago

Fucking gold

[–] 1984@lemmy.today 24 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

I'm honestly shocked that you have to ask someone if you can trust him.

He is without a doubt the least trustworthy person on the entire planet. Even less so than Putin i would say.

[–] Vipsu@lemmy.world 3 points 10 hours ago

Musk has his loyal fanbase who have been impressed by his achievements with Paypal, Tesla and SpaceX.
Honestly he seemed all right before 2020's but after that he's slowly become more and more radicalized.

Fortunately his behaviour is alienating a lot of his fanbase, unfortunately they're getting replaced by more far right fans.

[–] themadcodger@kbin.earth 40 points 1 day ago (8 children)

He's a narcissist. Of course he's the best at this and everything else he does. Any evidence to the contrary is division by zero.

My first instinct was to poke fun but it's actually important to keep breaking this overpaid influencer's false image. He's actively using it to push his harmful agenda.

[–] CosmoNova@lemmy.world 35 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I can‘t even tell for sure who of the two you’re talking aboout but I agree either way.

I mostly remember it as reporting abput random ass topics "transsexual ketamine dealers of Uruguay" type of stuff.

[–] GeneralVincent@lemmy.world 38 points 1 day ago (4 children)

The craziest part of that article is

Vice co-founder Shane Smith stepped down as CEO in 2018, but has remained the company's (...) The Canadian-born journalist’s focus seems to be trained on the southern border, with an editorial line closer to Trump campaign fearmongering than hard news reporting. (Smith is not to be confused with Vice co-founder Gavin McInnes, who left the media company and established the far-right militant group the Proud Boys).

So two of the three Vice media founders are now far right? I tried to find out more about Suroosh Alvi, the third founder, but didn't see much. Though on his X (🤢) he posts and reports a bunch of pro Gaza stuff.

I shouldn't be surprised cuz it looks like they all got rich off Vice, but still.

Actually it’s a dumb point because everyone and their mom already know he got boosted. Both of them should shut up and stop showing their face in public thank you very much.

how does elon even have time to play video games if he’s the most busiest and hardcore guy of all time?

Inb4 Bezos suspends his twitch account for "inappropriate activity"

[–] webghost0101@sopuli.xyz 29 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Rich people work so hard to deserve their perverse wealth /s The only way they can still blow of steam is by pretending to grind online multiplayer games no actual working person has enough time for.

What kind of flex is this supposed to be?

I dont know path of exile in detail but being a top mmo player has always struck me of an archivement in dedication of time much more then inherent skill. The learned skill the pros have just comes natural with enough dedication.

My general reaction to something like it is not more then . Wow “you” must really enjoy this particular game. Is that reaction really worth cheating for?

Do we think he lacks the general life experience to be able to reflect on the common knowledge that a pro failed more times then the beginner has tried?

I known Elon is neurodivergent if not full on autistic but so am i and i cant make sense of this guys wims.

[–] Zulu@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago

I think it comes down to what you said, but for the obscenely rich.

A pro has failed more than a beginner has tried. The obscenely rich have been told 'yes' more than the poor have had the opportunity to even ask questions.

You can learn this type of failed behavior just like a bad habit, and boy howdy is he the master of it.
