Well I don’t know if I technically count, but England’s chip shops… why do you not have cheesy chips? What has cheese or a blend of three excellent cheeses done to you?

All the ones I goto do cheesy chips these days.

Could be a regional issue with dairy products 😁

Hmm maybe a south thing... or just around here... jokes on them, I just carry a tub of grated cheddar with me at all times. 😉

My favourite chippy in the Cathays area of Cardiff used to do cheesy chips, also - garlic chips, like actually cooked in garlic oil with crushed garlic on top.

I feel like that's a clue of your country of origin but you said cheddar and now I'm confused

Not sure where they are going to find cheese curds in the UK.

They can shit on the UK as much as they want. They will say things like:

  • Crime is up
  • It's going bankrupt
  • It's boring and everything closes early

Compared to the country I came here, i have

  • Solid rights whether it's employment, consumer, etc
  • My kids can get quality education for free
  • I can build long term plans and work on them without adverse effects

The country I came from runs world wide media campaigns to make it look amazing. It's a bait once you love there.

Positive answers are definitely appreciated!

It's been a while ago, but back when I moved here, a lot of things were surprisingly easy and well organised. Back "home", the usual way of getting a season ticket was still buying a piece of paper at one of the designated kiosks, and show it to the driver. It expires today and it's a cold, rainy evening? Too bad, go and get a new one. Here? Log in and click on renew. Enter a few numbers. Click OK. I love it.
