Has anyone here tried Rust dev on Haiku OS? I love these "niche" OSes, and it'd be cool to write some utilities for it. I assume that a lot of the syscalls might be completely different, so it'd be more challenging as well?

Just heard about it this week. Read the article. Have zero clue why anyone would use this? It mentions having two applications that users might want and claims to be faster than Linux.

Also love the phrasing of the best OS outside of windows and Unix family. Thats saying very little lol

It took best of legacy of BeOS .Amazing filesystem, multrhreading where u can disable CPU cores in real time and system not gonna lag and switch application in other CPU thread,I was watching old demo where BeOS was running 3d apps rendering video files and text editors and not freezing at all and it was 1995 P.s https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cjriSNgFHsM&t=1048
