I need to branch out my video game taste, and I'm going to have quite a lot of free time next semester. However, there's a big problem. I'm a broke college student.

So I've resolved that for the first four months of 2025, I will play every free weekly Epic game to completion before the next one launches. That should be 17 games in 17 weeks. I'll make a post on this subreddit after finishing every game detailing my thoughts. I don't expect very many people to read, but this is mostly to keep myself accountable.

Here are the rules I've set for myself:

1. If a game has a campaign, I must play it to completion. If there's no campaign, I have to put in at least 7 hours.

2. I must finish the game and have a post up on this subreddit by the time the next game launches, typically on Thursday morning. Posts must include visual proof I completed the game, a review and a brief recap of my experience playing in relation to the challenge.

3. If there's a blitz of games similar to what's going on now, I still have to play one per week, but can choose any of them. For this reason I will start on January 1, but can play any of the games in the current blitz.

4. If a major life event happens, I can take a BYE for the week. I'll ideally avoid this altogether, but I'm not grinding out Control if my family member dies.

5. I still have to play to completion any game I've already beaten.

Hopefully this type of personal content is allowed on the subreddit as long as I'm keeping it wholly grounded in the free release of the week. And if anyone else is interested, feel free to join in!

Otherwise, I'm going to start on New Year's Day. See you all in a little over a week!
