Summary

Critics of Donald Trump, including Democratic lawmakers and former officials, are preparing for potential retribution if he returns to the White House.

Fears include arrests, weaponized investigations, and targeted violence, as Trump and allies have called for revenge against perceived enemies, such as lawmakers, intelligence officials, and journalists.

Preparations range from hiring security to planning for exile. Critics warn that Trump's next administration could be more organized and aggressive in using legal and institutional tools for retaliation.

Concerns over rising political violence and weakened checks on presidential power underscore the risks.

I'm genuinely concerned about all the TV satirists who made endless fun of him during the election.

Jimmy Kimmel for sure, but also Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert, John Oliver and the entire Daily Show team.

He does have a special place of hatred in him for Kimmel though. He has for years. What happened at the Oscars made it worse.

He can have Kimmel. John Oliver needs around the clock security.

John Oliver needs a little bit of a hiatus I wouldn't trust him being around here with or without security.

That's when the civil war stars I think.

Sigh..edit: I don't condone violence from anyone about anything. Figured I should say this regardless

As somebody who tends to be a 'glass half full' kind of guy, I really do hope that Trump goes too far and does something like the above causing people to snap out of whatever trance led them to follow him in the first place.

Like say... stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody.

Not even sure that would do it tbh.

That’s the thing. He could do literally anything and it wouldn’t be too far for these people. He could kill their kids and they’d praise him for it.

‘We all have our eyes wide open’ and are prepared to do absolutely nothing about it...
