Waiting for that one mfer who tells us that this is actually the optimal conditions for the roots or something.

[–] Blum0108@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago

It would dry out pretty fast and need frequent watering, but the air permeability of the denim would keep the roots from binding, so it actually would probably result in a deeper root structure and better yields.

Who's to say anyways. Might as well try it. You know, for science

call me when there are mantis men. i'll bring my rifle and grenades

[–] SomeGuy69@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I don't think fabric makes for a good outdoor planter. I can imaging it's rotting fast and all sorts of pests and unwanted will love this setup.

I dunno maybe being able to water the legs and not the whole thing is good for some reason

[–] BlackDragon@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 month ago

Nah that doesn't really have anything to do with anything, when you water you just saturate all the soil at once anyway. Think about how plants get watered in nature: not that often but thoroughly

Oddly disturbing

That's neat, someone in my city freezes jeans for a similar effect.

[–] daggermoon@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

this is disturbing

[–] niktemadur@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

Ever felt like you really wished you had a carrot with you?

[–] AeonFelis@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I guess that answers the question from that meme?

[–] Willy@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 month ago

[–] Evil_Shrubbery@lemm.ee 1 points 1 month ago

I would plant carrots towards the bottom so I could pull it out of their asses later.
