Original Title: Hi there! My girlfriend and I (from South Africa) made a little space adventure, shootemup exploration game which works really well on the steam deck. It's called Hadleys Run and its out now on steam. Its a real indie game made by a very small team!

Hey guys!

My girlfriend and I quit our jobs.. wait a sec that sounds like every other indie dev out there. What makes us special? Nothing really, we've just worked our butts off like everyone else in the hope some people enjoy what we've made. Shit I'm really digressing here.

Ok back on track. Take two. Marketing time you got this. DEEP BREATH. (says prayer to not have this post removed and/or a flood of negative comments)

OUR GAME IS OUT! (yes everyone is ultra hype about it, my dad even sent me a congratulations message for making an app [thanks dad!])

[INSERT TRAILER HERE] (I couldn't do this because text posts dont allow videos, damnit man!. SIgh... you're gonna have to go to the store page to see it *evil laugh*)

About the game

It's set in a sort of african future space. You explore, there's a storyline, shit goes pear shaped, you meet weirdos, you save the day. You blast shit up like in geometry wars. It has kick-ass music. (am I biased, of course not, I SWEAR)

Anyways, it works really well on the deck and it's just a casual old-school romp through space blowing shit up and, hopefully, having a good time. Nothing fancy pants.

About our team

Made by a small girlfriend-boyfriend studio (first comes love, then comes game dev) with a bit of help from our friends: Liam (writing) and Martinique (music). We're from South Africa. And Meepo, our fart-director.

Launching this game has been rough on all of us, not least of all Meepo. He's down to one walk a day. Poor guy.

I did the usual: saved up, dreamt of making a game, did some stupid things, worked hard, quit my job, lost all my money. The usual indiedev experience. Its been hard, but fun. We want to make more, even better, games in the future and this is the start of our journey.

We'd love for you to give our little game a spin and tell us the good, the bad and the ugly. (to be honest I'm not sure if im emotionally ready for bad feedback but just lay it on me)

As you can tell launching this game has been fun and in parts traumatic and it's very possible I've lost my mind.

PS: Sorry for the self-promo. We just do it because we're desperate. I respect all of your time and I know self-promotion can be flippen overwhelming, so hopefully you've derived some joy at my cringeworthy writing.

PPS: You're only allowed ONE image in your post. I used it on a dog. This is surely not a good marketing tactic.
