This is replacing the normal startup sequence.
Not at all familiar with this phone, but maybe check the ribbon cable connecting the display to the board. Is it possible to reflash the roms?
My technical level is very limited. I wound up getting a new phone because it had been on the fritz anyways and they are only $20 lol.
Lol, yeah, then def not worth your time unless you're very attached to it.
It'll just be a pain to replace all my contacts.
