I watch TV shows when I do cardio in the morning, and it's a minor annoyance to reach for the remote to select the next episode, or skip show intro and credits. Is there a good and reliable way to get that working for all the TV shows that I have ripped FROM DVDs and Blu-ray?

+1 for Jellyfin. I’ve been using this plugin to skip intros & it has been working quite well

You should look at either jellyfin or plex. Jellyfin doesn't quite have the skip intro feature but it's being worked on, and I think plex has the option to skip intros. Both will autoplay a series though.

Plex skips credits and intros and auto plays

Make a playlist in VLC?

I believe there's an addon for Kodi for this. Been a while since I used it though.

You could also just remove chapters from the video files during ripping, or by using something like ffmpeg.

Stremio can do this. I think it defaults to play the intro.
