Sorry yeah should have mentioned that I'm looking for Android and either Mac or Win.
Joplin is on all platforms & has a low learning curve versus the other shit I mentioned, if you're on Lemmy you are used to one flavor of Markdown, give that a go and see. Was my whole thing for a while. It has encrypted sync and stores all kinds of multimedia files, embedded internet image links if you want. Has cool plugins
Emacs scales up into writing applications and publishing papers while keeping your whole life automated so I recommend trying the orgmode apps but yeah no need probably
For food specifically I use Energize android app bc it's very quick once you have lots of recipes and things saved
Honorable mention for the Arcane/Delta Chat Webxdc apps called TimeTracker & Realtime Editor which are stable software with test level features. somehow still gets regular use out of me due to it being truly instant + having a launcher shortcut & being able to have their own windows external to DC
