The section of New York City is literally the most diverse place in the world.

Over 200 languages spoken there. You probably have a cousin in New York.

I don't doubt it. Manhattan was stolen first by my country before we traded it for Suriname.

Did you know that "Yankee" comes from Jan?

The "pure" English colonists in the South looked down on the Dutch because they didn't have enough slaves and Natives to hate on.

"Yankee" was originally a slur, until the Americans started winning battles in the Revolution.

So thanks for that. And the cool city.

Pretty sure the current state of New York City is not really a Dutch legacy. But you're welcome I guess. You're welcome my people decided to get on boats and plunder half the globe.

The largest African American newspaper in New York is the Amsterdam News.

Obviously, it was a much bigger deal back in the day, but it's still got a lot of readers.

So, your legacy lives on.
