I know we're trying to be funny but is the joke...people lost their SNAP benefits and can't afford a turkey? What's...funny?

I'm not even trying to be the woke police someone please help me understand.

Edit: also if the point is just generally feel angry and ashamed by the callousness of the current admin then that's where I am currently at.

There are people who complain that people on food stamps can buy nice food on occasion, such as thanksgiving turkey. The joke here is just making their callousness clear.
