Tbh, I'd like more physical buttons in general on smartphones, I miss the physical home button they used to have/the row of bottom buttons that early Android tablets had, and I'd love to see fold out phone keyboards with physical keys again. But yeah, aside from "moar buttons plz", there's not a lot to innovate.

Although I want my damn headphone jack back. And a whole lot more I/O in general. No, I do not care if it makes the phone twice as thick to fit it all in. I like the idea of a chunky but tough brick, yet still small enough to hold in one hand and carry in a small purse, that can go online, make phone calls, or type up a document. I'm a writer, admittedly it's a hobby and not a paying day job, but point is, I would absolutely like a modern and somewhat mainstream mobile device that's more pleasant to use for writing on the go. When the muse strikes, you have to jot down the idea or write the scene right then and there sometimes, having a smartphone has helped immensely with that for me, but let's be real, touchscreen keyboards suck. Not that fold out ones were great, but I think they sucked slightly less.
