I think you owe a debt to society, as do we all. Yours just may be a little heavier because of your past, it's just not insurmountable as some allege.

That is not how you recompense, it serves no one. Engage with mutual aid, build a network for those in need. Use the tools you were taught to protect your community and to teach others.
A misguided youth can one day just become hard earned experience if applied to a future with proper intention.
Does assisting Americans “recompense” the victims of the military?
