The point of the song revolves around many people's inability to communicate.
I think you can understand the song and still be a piece of shit. For example, he understands the song and properly communicated to us all that he's a monster.
Also controversial opinion but Simon and Garfunkel are not a difficult band to put out a banger cover of. If your music can capture an aching feeling you can cover their songs really well. Paul Simon was a musical genius.
You scared me with that “was” after “Paul Simon”, I had to check to make sure he wasn’t dead!
Tbh I had just assumed he was because he's really old. But then again buzz Aldrin is still alive
