I absolutely love Rush and am a huge fan but I'm afraid of buying tickets to this. I was so lucky to be able to see them once live with Neil and I'm afraid of tainting that memory. Had something like that happen when I saw Yes a second time after loving the first

IIRC, Yes swapped in weirdos who were from genres that were far removed from progrock. And this was after the "core" of the band had already fractured.

I think Lifeson and Lee are so experienced with each other that any capable musician who is able and willing to properly fill a role in Rush can do so without fear of retracting from the whole. Especially considering the absolute legend of a drummer they're filling in for - I doubt anyone would want to approach the songs with an attitude of "You know what, I'm gonna put my own spin on this. YYZ in 6/8, fuck yeah! "

As for keyboardist, that makes sense, really. Same as before, only with some of Lees parts being offloaded so that he doesn't have to hide in some corner when he'd rather be up front with his long time friend.

I wish they'd have a European tour as well, but to be fair, my mom is roughly the same age as them, and I get worried when she has to drive for more than a few hours.

"YYZ in 6/8" is a powerful kind of cringe. Lol. Thank you
