My experience is different. Yes, when they want to hire you they say we're all like a family.

When revenue drops, they say it again - stressing that we all need to pull together, which usually means something like fewer benefits, more hours for the same wage and deferred raises.

When revenue rises, there should - logically - be a speech where we, as a family, celebrate our wealth and share it with everyone. That never happens though.

we just grilled our bosses because they do a quarterly presentation about how well the company is doing, and then in May and September laid off 20% then 30% of the company for "financial" reasons.

I think they think that now AI is here we can all just do the work without people? But what that means is you just get unreconstructed verbatim AI output as a service.
