It was the first time I had ever heard the word. There are too many slurs out there.
And I think that's what's great about it and gives the whole inclusion in the story value. There are things people don't know and they earnestly don't understand why they get heat until they get clued in.
Hard to shift thought patterns that are well established when they don't make sense to you (closing your mind to learning is an entirely different ball of wax as well)
