They're not time travelers from 1940. They're modern nazis, and this is what they do. He's just another nazi propagandist like limbaugh and kirk, except he's got a fucking HITLER mustache!!!
There's an amusing scene in Iron Sky where a 1940s style Nazi meets some neo Nazis and he ends up positively disgusted and calls the neonazis an insult to their race
