I'm sorry but yeah. I'll be blunt but yes. Someone said "All men are predators". In Spanish actually, because I live in Spain "Todos los hombres son predadores, estΓ‘ en los estudios" where their words one to one.
The way I see it now, feminism has been poisoned by all this fairly recent talk and I certainly make it known on my valots.
Simply put, being part of a sistematically oppressed group shouldn't give free reign to insult people. Point one, me! I'm Muslim and if you try to dig down my posts and say "you aren't brown enough". Please self-flagellate upon said islamophobia.
Again, you're pushing back against people complaining about the very real systemic oppression of women. Feminism is not "poisoned," people like you take the real complaints and assume personal accusation of each and every man. I'm a man, and I don't take offense when people speak out against the oppression of women by men, because I know they aren't talking about me.
No cant do, I'll take people at their word the same way you took mine. I won't assume "they aren't talking about me", I'm done keeping that aside because it hasn't done me any good.
I'll be keeping my self-respect and I will not support any of these smear campaings.
You'll continue to prove the feminists that describe fierce opposition to women's rights from men correct.
It's more of a self-made prophecy then. You can't alienate a whole group of society and surprise yourself when said group leaves you behind. Look, we're two men wasting our time away for people who don't care about us. Let's call it done.
Feminists aren't alienating a whole group of society, said group is alienating itself by rejecting real and valid critique of the oppression of women. I'm not alienated from feminism, and women do care about me. We can call it done if you want, but I'm still going to disagree.
Again, we are back at the same talking point.
Why is me the man supposed not to feel insulted by this? And me the Muslim supposed to feel insulted by this?
They are the same sentences, just with different subjects. This very stupid "You're only allowed to say X to a certain group of people" will make that very same group of people look at you and walk off. Right now you're only justifying that because the net is so wide you shouldn't get caught in it.
My principle is don't be an asshole. Not, don't be an asshole "to suppressed people". Me following my principle has taken me away from feminism as they're simply treating me wrong and misrepresenting the group I'm a part of. I made those comments to call out the hypocritical in it and I got hit with more hypocrisy. So yeah, I'm allineated all right
No, they are calling attention to systemic oppression of women and you are taking it personally.
