I think in this case the author of the Wojak was frustrated when they were trying to play a difficult game themselves, posted about their frustration, and someone told them they would enjoy the game more if they took a break.
It is the frustration which is helped by taking a break, not the difficult game
If you don't get frustrated you don't need a break
I know guys who will straight up play the newest fromsoft game for like 20 hours straight on release and be cool as a cucumber the entire time
I find that it’s actually more that a break can allow you to approach a problem differently as well as potentially be more rested and therefore just play better.
Yeah sometimes I stop after getting stuck on a boss, come back 2 days later and beat it first try
Can’t even tell you how many times I’ve done this with souls games. It’s a legit strategy lol
this is the case with all skill learning!
This, I spent about a year intermittently challenging Sword Saint before I finally beat him, a week or two playing then a month or so off. Coming back at it fresh reliably resulted in some new progress/breakthrough, although it probably also helped that my breaks from Sekiro were spent playing Beat Saber lol
