The title is accurate, and I agree with you; there is no need for an outrage. I don't know a single game that would give free keys for another platform. It would be cool, though.

cross-platform keys should be industry standard if it wasn't for greed.

Many individual devs on itch.io will do so (I think not Slice & Dice's dev, though, sadly)!
