It has broken the brains of older Evangelicals. They are besides themselves with grief and (for the moment impotent and somewhat directionless) rage, it's like as to a devout catholic as if the pope was assassinated or if someone had shot Billy Graham on live TV. Their whole world is shook. All the act of being persecuted and woe is us and all that and suddenly they realize it can get a lot worse and it works them up into a sobbing, red-faced frenzy because they cannot accept this happening to them and for the first time they can actually truly FEEL and act the victim and be validated for it somewhat by liberals. After years, decades of their lives spent being dishonest, claiming aggrievement and persecution when there was none they finally have one and it's an emotional high they can hardly handle.

They are going to remember this for years, decades. Like 9/11.
