Nothing says "cannon fodder" like this over-the-top response to his death.

I think when senator McCain, the veteran and hero, died, they insulted him.

Oof. MC Cain was a vet and a pow. Hero is a bit far. He got shot down on a mission he wasn't supposed to be on, in a plane any other pilot wouldn't have been allowed near after crashing 3 prior to that and his demand was only possible because his daddy got put in charge of Vietnam after he was captured and told the enemy his dad was in charge.

It's like one of those rare times where nepotism and ego actually worked out ok.

He saved the affordable care act with his thumbs down mavrick move. I'd say that qualifies

No that's a political ploy and apparently one you bought and regardless we're talking about his military career.

Okay but he was a lot more civilised than his successor...

That's not heroic that doesnt even imply he's a decent person just less shitty then the one before.

You can bend over backwards to call the guy a hero but you're going to have to chop that definition down until your cashier is a hero because they didn't steal your change.

I don't think I called him a hero?

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 2 points 2 days ago (1 children)

You didn't but that also means you aren't following the conversation.

True. My lemmy client is crap. Doesn't show the full context. Sad!
