This is a webforum, not a nationstate, or a union, or even a book club.
It's a society. It is governed. Right?
Do you pay taxes/bills for the forum? The owner gets to decide how it's ruled. It's not a public space
That doesn't explain why though.
Elsewhere in this thread it has been offered that we do dictatorship because democracy won't work here, because we can't ensure one-vote-per-member, because people can have multiple accounts.
Because the owner decides this is how it works. If you want it to work any other way, you can spin up your own, and that process IS like democracy where people vote with their engagement on which site to visit.
That explains how (through force) not why.
Having your choice of dictatorship is not like democracy. Democracy is a method for creating policy. That's quite different.
