Since our front page has about a 60% parity with theirs (don't think I didn't notice!) it may be good to offer some life rafts.

On the other hand, there is a lot of reddit brain over there. A lot would flip out over no downvotes or not being allowed to say certain slurs.

I'm willing to let them in but they need to accept they are LIBs on the topic of masking. I want congressbaseballfan back here though.

Edit: on the other hand, I don't know what this was all about but that's one of their most active and interesting posters, it would really suck if some of the best users from over there have legit grievances over here that are keeping them from joining. I feel like Hexbear is usually pretty good about dealing with DM harassment, even when the perpetrators are known and respected users, so it seems odd.

Bit idea: guy who gets harassed in DMs but doesn't notice

That happened to me on Reddit once. A Destiny fan apparently spent a month sending me death threats and I didn’t even realize until a year after it happened

I'm not too sure about the reporting systems before hexbear rejoined lemmy federation since I wasn't a mod in that prehistoric period, but I can say for certain we are able to report DMs as users and the admins are able to quickly and decisively handle the incidents as they come.
