I have to wonder if they'd be more interested if you'd said you fly a space ship with a HOTAS (as in Elite Dangerous).
„I like playing with my stick“
yeah yeah we all do, pancake, but you need more things to talk about on a date!
that's where the hand on the throttle comes in!
Played a fair bit of Elite but now kinda feels like there isn't really that much purpose to play and most things get boring quickly, especially if you are trying to be vaguely efficient and stack missions or what ever the meta is now.
Doing a variety of different things with my multiple ship and SRV or on foot was most fun and least rewarding. If there was more co-op focused stuff I think that could help too, even if it was just a mission variant that increased enemy spawn rates in the mission area. Then rewards that make the mission worth doing.
I got really into elite dangerous at one point. I never got a HOTAS though, but I’d considered it.
How is the game these days?
I am back playing since a few weeks after bring absent for 5 years. Got myself Odyssey finally and do exobiology and you can build your own Colonies now!
I wouldn't know! I'm currently exploring the black, and that hasn't changed much! I think it's had some improvements, though, since Horizons. They maybe added a new ship...? Still one of the best space flight sims.
On the other side of the coin, No Man's Sky added walkable ship interiors to their new Corvette class ships, so they've basically added everything Star Citizen promised, just with more cartoonish graphics. Either are still great choices for scratching that space exploration itch.
I’ve tried no mans sky a few times and couldn’t get into it.
I never grinded enough to get an anaconda, but I did make a few first discoveries while jumping around.
I think my ship is so far out that every time I play, I get bored trying to jump to anywhere relevant.
