I remember when that was revealed back before the election in 2016, I truly thought that would be the end of him. But instead his supporters doubled down, wore "grab me by my pussy" t-shirts and so on. That is when it started to dawn on me that something was going on that was radically different from previous elections. American right wing ideology had finally solidified into a genuine cult, after decades, centuries of failed attempts.
Like that time that Bush lost the debate because he looked at his wristwatch.
