This does seem more thematic for the subclass though, not going to lie.

However, I would like to argue that I am, in fact, a creature that is within 30 feet of me that has dropped to 0 hit points.

I don't have the rule citation in front of me but I do believe that is allowed by Rules as Written, I hadn't considered that.

All of this said, Zealot is still my intended subclass to play when I get a chance to play a Barb.
