Rule 3- Do not seek mental, medical and professional help here.

Rule 4- No self promotion or upvote-farming of any kind.

That's it.

Rule 5- No baiting or sealioning or promoting an agenda.

Posts and comments which, instead of being of an innocuous nature, are specifically intended (based on reports and in the opinion of our crack moderation team) to bait users into ideological wars on charged political topics will be removed and the authors warned - or banned - depending on severity.

Rule 6- Regarding META posts.

Provided it is about the community itself, you may post non-Reddit posts using the [META] tag on your post title.

Rule 7- You can't harass or disturb other members.

If you vocally harass or discriminate against any individual member, you will be removed.

Likewise, if you are a member, sympathiser or a resemblant of a movement that is known to largely hate, mock, discriminate against, and/or want to take lives of a group of people, and you were provably vocal about your hate, then you will be banned on sight.

Rule 8- All comments should try to stay relevant to their parent content.

Rule 9- Reposts from other platforms are not allowed.

Let everyone have their own content.

Rule 10- Majority of bots aren't allowed to participate here. This includes using AI responses and summaries.

MODERATORS

I’m so confused by how Reddit is being moderated now. I had someone follow me to various subreddits, responding to every comment I made with a particular anti trans slur, (the one that rhymes with “moon”, not sure if I’m allowed to say it here) and a demand that I join the “41 percent” (which basically means “kill yourself.”) I reported their account, just once, and it was the first time I’d ever reported anyone. A few hours later, I was permanently banned for “abusing the report button”. I tried making another account and was instantly banned. The accounts of other people in my household have also been permanently banned, which is the most confusing part of all of it.

The account that was harassing me is still up as far as I’m aware. So, apparently it’s fine to call people slurs and tell them to die, but they’re not allowed to complain about it.

So, I’m new to this place. I was told it was better.

No you’re right, I oversimplified and falsely associated the dictatorships that ruled under the guise of “Nah this is communism guys ITS FOR YOU”

Actually the "communist" places often called themselves democratic too. They weren't that either.

Okay, gotcha.

I guess my main reason for piping up there is that the more I've learned from history, the more I've noticed a wider and wider gap between what it's like living in actual communes (which to me are probably the closest thing to our traditional living system, i.e. "tribes"), and the huge autocracies which declared themselves "communist."

The other problem is that many in the west (especially the USA) were either disingenuous or completely ignorant about what was really going on over there, and of course The Red Scare became an awful lever and power-play which ruined a lot of peoples lives.

Bah, sorry for all the ranting.

Nah I welcome polite/informative ranting, makes for an interesting time on here.

I think I continue to agree with you.

Personally, I subscribe (to my own personal theory) that we haven’t really biologically “evolved” since when we were living together in small/villages as tribes — effectively communes. We did not evolve to know everything about the entire world and have the problem-solving/logistical skills necessary to feed and help more than maybe 100 people (those that should live in our commune) lol

All that to say I think living on a commune with my fam and buddies would be pretty cool, so long as no tankies are there lol.

Oh yeah, I agree a lot about the evolution issue, and I think the lack of such is directly reflected in people commonly feeling overwhelmed by this modern life. Also common for us to be poor at perceiving global issues of the day (like sustainability), and being easily manipulated in to voting against our own interests as kind of a knee-jerk reaction to all that.
