So if we could associate anti-communism with women and feminism in the popular consciousness, we'd have Bolshevik mobs of young men and divorced dads in the streets waving Soviet flags. Hmm.

I wouldn't be surprised. Honestly, it's probably the same material conditions that gave rise to German "national-socialism" after the Spartakists failed in 1919 and the liberals/socdems couldn't offer strong policy and a new direction for the failing country.
