Yeah but it's the death of a euphemism. It was good that they had to use a euphemism.

Edit: I watched the death of a euphemism video and understand your point now. My original comment was less of a serious assertion and more voicing my general disdain for the idea of crossing out "War," writing "Defense," and continuing to invade countries for decades anyway.

Kind of? It makes you more likely to moderate, stop earlier, do less atrocities if you think the public won’t like it or is ashamed of it.

I suppose they do, but that doesn't imply "Department of War" is any less shameful, except for the fact that we know Trump doesn't have shame and only wants to change the name because it makes him sound more authoritarian.
