UK Politics
General Discussion for politics in the UK.
Please don't post to both !uk_politics@feddit.uk and !unitedkingdom@feddit.uk .
Pick the most appropriate, and put it there.
Posts should be related to UK-centric politics, and should be either a link to a reputable news source for news, or a text post on this community.
Opinion pieces are also allowed, provided they are not misleading/misrepresented/drivel, and have proper sources.
If you think "reputable news source" needs some definition, by all means start a meta thread. (These things should be publicly discussed)
Posts should be manually submitted, not by bot. Link titles should not be editorialised.
Disappointing comments will generally be left to fester in ratio, outright horrible comments will be removed.
Message the mods if you feel something really should be removed, or if a user seems to have a pattern of awful comments.

Sure seems like the bosses and the state are in cahoots to make sure ANY criminality (regardless of it's dubious class nature) is punishable by destitution. We should really work on trying to fix that.
That's pretty forward thinking of them I've been working here for 6 years.
It's a fairly standard contract and it's like that because if I did something really bad and people found out about it they would put pressure on the company to fire me anyway. Having that clause in the contract just gives them an easy thing to point to.
The bosses are based in Gibraltar so I don't know if they would even necessarily know about this. In theory they're part of the UK but they seem really isolated out there, they often seem unaware of things happening in back here in the mainland. So not only would I be fighting against a technical clause in the contract but also against their ignorance of the whole situation.
I'm fairly sure these arrests are not going to stick but that doesn't really help.
The forward thinking nature of being able to crush any dissenters is a baked in part of class struggle. The State and the bosses are twinned at the hip and ensure that workers will be punished severely for getting above their station.
Criminal punishment is overwhelmingly used to selectively punish poorer people and political enemies, ignoring the general criminality of the ruling class.
