Why would that be the only way?
Because anything else will bring destruction in varying types and magnitudes, from "guess I didn't get to live a happy life" at 80+ to "these maniacs have devasted half the globe for hundreds of years" and more
I think we're going to destroy the globe even if we had total equality between sexes
Oh no, we can't even exactly end life on the globe (but significantly fuck things up - yeah). And humanity going over this "man/woman is supposed to X/Y/Z" bullshit also means humanity being more mature. Question is, do we get there before some idiot does put everyone in the ground. Can't say I am sure we will
Voluntary submission regardless of gender is fine, but the full freedom to make your choices including whether or not you submit is vital to avoiding a gender based class system which is innately destructive
