What’s the actual purpose here? You share the link with the airline if your luggage doesn’t show up in the carousel and…?

I know how it should work — you check your luggage location as you enter the airport, find that it isn’t at the same airport you’re at, you submit the form, and the airline does its best to redirect the luggage from wherever it is to your destination address as fast as possible.

But 99.9999% of the time, the airline already knows where the luggage is; they just messed up their logistics. So this sort of program would just add an extra step to the process without adding anything useful, right?

And if you check the location and it’s in a dumpster somewhere, the airline won’t be able to redirect it anyway, and you’ll need to contact the police and send THEM the location URL.
