President Donald Trump has been rushed to the situation room, where he was briefed regarding a situation where a gunman opened fire on Fort Stewart Army Base in Georgia. It was reported that the president was supposed to have lunch, but was cut short due to the shooting. "@POTUS @realDonaldTrump was scheduled to have lunch until 12:30 EST today," a reporter tweeted.

Is this normal?

You mean is it normal for POTUS to rush out when the military might be required to take immediate action, or for randos to shoot up crowds of people in the US?

Answer is 'yes' either way, just curious what you meant.
