finding most of the chapo eps either really boring/depressing (i cba to listen to some dude promote his book about "refounding the American Republic", fuck off) or just not that funny these days. need something to listen to that will make me laugh about the awful shit going on. any recs? is trueanon good?

TrueAnon's pretty good but it hinges on whether you like Brace's humor (I do). despite being ML they do not really bring up class often or do much class analysis along with the humor the way CTH did when it was firing on all cylinders. it is nice to have a podcast that hates the bourgeois and Musk and Thiel and Trump with a burning fire though

I find him incredibly funny, but I stopped listening because their deep irony poisoning leads to a lot of punches at random subcultures and it started to feel a bit cruel. God forbid someone earnestly enjoys something, likes to nerd out, or lives some kind of more niche lifestyle.

He's recently been making jokes about people who self harm which feels needlessly cruel and egregiously punching down, which is really unfortunate.

Brace is funny but also kinda annoying when he's on CTH. I really like Liv Agar tho.

yeah he works best when he can bounce off Liz's much drier style and the production includes audio clips or music drops to punctuate the humor
