Congratulations Italians, your honorary whiteness has been revoked and you have been demoted to the "swarthy" category once more. We really are just reinventing OLD SCHOOL racism again.

Never thought I would see the day when anti-Italian racism might actually become a thing again lmao. The Swiss lady was detained most likely because of social media posts about Palestine.

I will never forget this quote from Ben Franklin

But perhaps I am partial to the Complexion of my Country, for such Kind of Partiality is natural to Mankind.

Reminds me of Pierce Hawthorne's dad in Community, he said something like "Swedish dogs, you're tainted by race mixing with Laplanders. You're practically Finnish!" Which meant absolutely nothing to me at the time the episode aired but now I realize is a callback to Ben Franklin era racism

I've recently read a book by Maciej Górny, where he in particular described how pre-WWI European scientists strived to prove that everyone to their east and south are Mongols actually. British called French Mongols, French called Germans Mongols, Germans and Swedes called Poles and Finns Mongols, Poles and Finns called Russians Mongols and Russians had to alternate between calling Mongols Mongols and saying "we are Mongols and it is based actually".

probably British white. also not the caucasian whites for some reason like russians.
