I think its some sort of scheme where these techbros make a web frontend for some already existing program, then have their employer pay for the service because it's a "required tool" for their job and the employer doesn't mind because they can write it off as a business expense, or something like that. I can't imagine a normal person paying for, e.g. a PDF editor tool app, while i can see a business doing that. And once it's on a company expenses, it pretty much stays there forever.

Also i bet these youtubers are making their money selling you the shovel than actually doing it themselves.
